A/Prof J. Anne S. Smith MBBS FRACP MForensMed FFCFM(RCPA) AFRACMA MPH MHLM

Anne Smith is a paediatrician and forensic medical specialist who is currently the Director of the Victorian Forensic Paediatric Medical Service. 

Anne has contributed to curriculum development across 2 colleges to train paediatric and forensic medical specialists to recognise and respond to child abuse. She has trained health professionals, child protection practitioners and police, researched, published, and developed standards, guidelines, tools and report templates.  She strives to improve service quality, interagency partnerships and workforce resilience. 

Anne is a Clinical Associate Professor at Melbourne University and a Senior Lecturer at Monash University where she coordinates and teaches 2 units in the Master of Forensic Medicine program (Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse and Advanced Issues in Non-Accidental Injury).
